(Alexandria, VA) – November 15, 2022: Nevada has all-mail ballot elections meaning that all active registrants are automatically mailed ballots. Running an election by mail requires extremely accurate voter rolls to ensure ballots are reaching the intended voters.

Unfortunately, Nevada’s voter rolls contain tens of thousands of errors. These errors include deceased and duplicate registrants and incorrect addresses on the voter rolls. In 2020, in Clark County alone more than  92,000 ballots went to the wrong address and were returned as undeliverable.

In 2020, PILF went to investigate some of the commercial addresses on the voter roll. The Foundation found that addresses on the voter roll included a vacant lot, a mine, and a smoke shop. Watch the full video here.

Vote by mail can even lead to disenfranchisement. In 2020, over 560,000 mail-in ballots were rejected by election officials across the country.

“Vote by mail is the worst way to run an election” said PILF President, J. Christian Adams. “It leads to chaos and even disenfranchisement. Often ballots, never reach the intended voter, or are lost by the United States Postal Service. We don’t want the post office running out elections.”
