PILF is dispatching a team of election lawyers to Michigan.
(Detroit, MI) – November 4, 2024: The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) is sending a team of election lawyers to Michigan to observe compliance with federal and state statutes at polling locations across the state. Last presidential election cycle in 2020, PILF’s election integrity team was in Flint, MI.
PILF’s poll observers will memorialize compliance with election laws. Poll observers can also serve as witnesses in litigation in actions following the election to enforce a variety of state and federal election laws.
Transparency hasn’t always prevailed in Michigan elections. In 2020, Detroit election officials put cardboard over the windows (pictured below) while ballots were being counted.
“Transparency in our elections helps promote the acceptance of results,” said PILF President J. Christian Adams. “The Justice Department has had a robust observer program over the years and PILF shares the view that the more transparency, the cleaner the elections.”
Voters who witness intimidation or failure to follow the law at polling places, can alert PILF’s election attorneys here.
Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) is the nation’s only public interest law firm dedicated wholly to election integrity. The Foundation exists to assist states and others to aid the cause of election integrity and fight against lawlessness in American elections. Drawing on numerous experts in the field, PILF seeks to protect the right to vote and preserve the Constitutional framework of American elections. PILF has brought lawsuits and won victories in Texas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and across the United States.
