(Alexandria, VA) June 3, 2026 — Following the Supreme Court’s decision permitting Alabama to implement its new congressional map, J. Christian Adams, President and General Counsel of the Public Interest Legal Foundation, issued the following statement:
“The Court cautioned that election rules should not be changed on the eve of Election Day. The Court ruled it is too close to the election to upset the status quo. This case has yo-yo-ed between the district court and the Supreme Court, so it is hard to find enduring principles in the bouncing between the two.”
The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) is the nation’s only public interest law firm dedicated wholly to election integrity. The Foundation exists to assist states and others to aid the cause of election integrity and fight against lawlessness in American elections. Drawing on numerous experts in the field, PILF seeks to protect the right to vote and preserve the Constitutional framework of American elections.
