ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 8, 2026) – The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) has won a settlement with County Clerk of Maui Moana Lutey after she initially failed to provide requested voter list maintenance records under the National Voting Rights Act of 1993 (NVRA).
Clerk Lutey has now produced the list maintenance records that were requested under the NVRA.
“This settlement is a victory for Maui voters,” said Amanda Fischer, PILF’s communications director. “Federal law requires public access to voter registration list maintenance and cancellation records. This outcome will help ensure Maui’s voter lists are accurate.”
PILF has reached similar settlements in New Mexico, Arizona, and Oregon. Read more about PILF v. Lutey here.
PILF attorneys for this case were Joe Nixon and Sam Swanson.
The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) is the nation’s only public interest law firm dedicated wholly to election integrity.
