PILF’s Lawsuit Stopped Mail Ballots from Going to Commercial Addresses Where No One Lives

Nevada’s Election Process is One for the Dark Ages

According to The Heritage Foundation’s election integrity scorecard, Nevada’s election system ranks the worst in the country. This is largely because Nevada allows the U.S. Postal Service to run its elections.

Under Nevada law, every active registered voter is automatically mailed a ballot. This system has led to chaos. In 2020, mail ballots were found on the side of the road and piling up on apartment lobby floors (pictured to the right). The vote-by-mail experiment was no better in 2022.

NEVADA’S VOTE BY MAIL CHAOS BY THE NUMBERS

-In 2020 and again in 2022, more than 90,000 mail ballots were undeliverable, meaning the ballots were sent to wrong or outdated addresses.

More than 8,000 mail ballots were rejected by Nevada election officials in 2022.

-In 2022, more than 1.2 million mail ballots were unaccounted for, meaning they were sent out and never returned to election officials.

To put these figures into perspective, Nevada’s U.S. Senate Seat in 2022 was decided by less than 8,000 votes.

PILF FIGHTS BACK IN COURT

Earlier this year, PILF identified some troubling commercial addresses where mail ballots would be going to in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Some of these addresses included casinos (one of these is pictured to the left), the Las Vegas Airport, a Sonic Drive-In, bars, a strip club, and gas stations.

Under Nevada law, you are required to be registered to vote where you live. So, PILF’s top election attorneys filed a lawsuit in state court to force Clark County (Las Vegas) and Washoe County (Reno) to investigate and fix errors relating to these business addresses on the voter roll. Lauren Bowman Bis, PILF’s spokeswoman, joined Newsmax to discuss the shocking addresses on the state’s voter roll and the Foundation’s lawsuit.

In August, Clark County gave in. They investigated these commercial addresses and fixed errors on the voter roll. This victory ensured that mail ballots will not be going to addresses where people do not live. PILF is still fighting against Washoe County.
