(Alexandria, VA) – October 9, 2024: The Public Interest Legal Foundation’s (PILF) Tied Elections Database grew this year to 635 tied elections and 173 elections decided by one vote. These elections illustrate that one illegal vote can change the winner of an election and why it is important to turn out and vote in elections.

- 29 elections ended in ties in 2024.
