Motor Voter at 30: DMVs Putting Foreigners on Voter Rolls

May 2023 – Since 2007, Chicago city records show the sporadic removals of 394 foreign nationals from the voter registration roll. From this group, 20 individuals are recorded casting 85 ballots. This is not an inventory of every non-citizen vote, but only those who informed election officials they were not an American citizen.
